these events rock like a canoe...
it was scary and exciting at the same time...
I'm having fun burning up my tires...
it sure was hard to get the rubber off my face...
CellBlock D is one of the places to increase your drifting skills, have fun, and waste tires. The events must be run in the safest way possible, so that every one can return for the next event. On this page you will find information that you as a driver should familiarize yourself with. From the Tech Requirements and Safety Rules to driver signup for upcoming events, you should find everything you need to attend the next CellBlock D event.
These events are good for both beginners and more experienced drifters, and will be a lot of fun. You will have to take turns "working" which is not hard. If you wish to bring a guest or 2, please note, this is a dangerous motorsport, and we would like to limit the age of 15 as the minimum for pit crew or ride along passengers. If you would like to bring a child younger than 15, they must not enter the pit area unless there is a break where there is allowable viewing of race cars.
Your car MUST pass tech. Do not even bother trying to make-shift something, fix it right. Your battery MUST be secured properly. Your body panels must also be secured with all bolts. That means hoods, fenders, etc. Zipties are acceptable for front bumpers, but the bumper must be secure, not loose. You must have 1 extra set of tires, that will stay within the "wear bars" for you to drive home on.
Driver Registration
Payments

Safety Rules
Our events take place at various venues from parking lots to race tracks.
All rules and regulations will be the same.
1. Track gates open at different times based on the event. We advise arriving early in order to check with registration and prepare your car before the drivers meeting.
2. Attendance to the drivers meeting is MANDATORY. If driver fails to attend the drivers meeting, he or she will not be allowed to drive, nor refunded for any admissions and/or tech inspection fees.
3. Passengers are allowed on a per-event basis. Passengers are subject to the same rules and regulations as drivers, including safety equipment.
4. Please follow directions given by track officials and/or venue staff. Any person(s) behaving in a unsafe manner as defined by officials and/or venue staff will be removed from the premises without refund.
5. There are no refunds or cancellations. Drivers are responsible for finding their own replacement for the event. Should you sell your spot, you must inform us in order for your replacement
to be active for the event.
DRIVER CONDUCT & VENUE REGULATIONS
1. All drivers, spectators, and passengers are required to obey all rules and regulations given by track officials and Venue staff. No car shall be allowed to proceed onto any course until directed by a staff/starter signal.
2. Paddock speeds are 10km per hour. This rule is not being followed closely enough, do not speed though the pits. This is for your safety and others.
3. No drugs or alcohol will be tolerated at the track. You will be removed from the premises without refund.
4. All flag rules must be obeyed and observed as signaled.
5. Drivers may be required to work corner worker positions. The schedule will be posted once signup's are completed. There will generally be one or two drivers at each station. The schedule can change as people sometimes cannot make it to the event or they break down and leave early.
6. DO NOT EXIT YOUR VEHICLE WHILE ON TRACK. Unless your car is on fire, you are safer staying inside the vehicle until instructed otherwise. EVEN IF IT IS UPSIDE DOWN. We asked that you stay in your vehicle with seatbelts and helmet on.
7. We will have corner workers on some corners, pay attention to the signals they may give out. Corner workers must be obeyed. When you are out on track they are the ONLY authority out there. The corner worker flags will be covered in the drivers meeting as will the use of the corner workers radios.
8. You are solely responsible for any damages or lost equipment while at the event. Realize that if you have car contact or crash because of “someone else”, you are still ultimately responsible for any damages to your equipment.

10. Helmet must be worn at ALL TIME while on the track or course. This includes passengers, All chin strap must be tightened and secured.
11. Video cameras or other recording equipment must be securely attached to the car; in addition, a security strap must be attached to the device that prohibits it from falling on the ground or moving inside the vehicle.
12. Other than driver hand signals, do not stick anything out the vehicle windows. This includes passengers or you will be red flagged and this might end your session early. (Race Track Only)
TECHNICAL INSPECTION AND VEHICLE SAFETY STANDARDS
Please pre-check yourself in such case to ensure you can pass the inspections in the morning.
A) Basic Standards for Single Competitions and Practice, Open Track and Schools
The following is designed to better explain specific points listed on the technical inspection sheet. It is highly recommended that all drivers ensure all points listed below are met, prior to an event to save time and trouble. Although minor repairs can be made on the day of the event, drivers should keep in mind that only one hour is allocated for tech inspection, and failure to pass technical inspection during this period will prevent a driver from participating.
Modifications – any modification to a vehicle must meet a standard of safety in design and installation.
Hub spacer/ adapter – Hub spacers or adapters must be installed properly and torqued to specifications. Lug nuts used in conjunction with these adapters must retain minimum threading to hold tension and be present on every stud.
Engine – Modifications to the engine must not interfere with required safety systems (brakes, steering, etc) of the vehicle. Engine modifications must also not create a fire or fluid leakage hazard. All aftermarket piping must be properly secured to the frame of the vehicle. Vehicles with transplanted engines must have all intake channels, intercooler piping (if present), and exhaust piping properly secured to the vehicle.
Suspension – If present, aftermarket roll center adaptors, alignment compensation brackets, and steering linkages must be torqued to specifications and meet required tensile strength.
Wheels / Tires – Aftermarket wheels and tires must not rub against the fender of the vehicle.
Brakes – Brake systems must be able to handle extended periods of hard driving conditions
Brakes must be properly bled and all seals in good condition, pedal and linkages must be free of excessive wear, play and malfunction or missing parts.
Brake pads must have more than 25% of original condition.
Master cylinder and calipers must be within specification.
Brakes must be free of fluid leaks.
Brake lamps must be functioning properly.
Body / Suspension – The body of a vehicle must be able to adequately protect the driver.
Tires and Wheels – Tires must retain a minimum of 3/32 inch of tread, and not have exposed belting or show any other signs of failure. Minimum tread wear rating for tires is 100 (no race compounds allowed). Temporary spare tires are not allowed on participating vehicles. All drivers must have 2 spare mounted tires that are not used on the course.
Lug Nuts – All lug nuts must be torqued to 80 ft/lbs. on approved fasteners, and be used on every stud. Lug nuts must have a minimum of 4 turns worth of thread.
Steering System – Steering system and linkages must be in proper working order.
Suspension – Suspension bolts must be torqued to specification. Suspension mounts must not be damaged.

Air Cleaner – The intake air cleaner system must be adequately secured to the frame of the vehicle with proper fasteners.
Oils and Fluids – All necessary fluids such as engine oil, transmission oil, brake fluid, and other important engine fluids must be filled to manufacturer specifications. Leaks of any of these fluids are not permissible.
Throttle – The throttle action must be smooth and the throttle spring must be to specification.
Ignition / Fuel System – The fuel system of the vehicle must be responding properly and free of any leakages. Any wiring or tubing associated with the fuel delivery or ignition system must be clear of hot areas to prevent potential fire hazards.
